Steve Urie
Steve has been a resident of Gilbert Arizona for 29 years and has been married to the former Renae Ricks of Mesa for 35 years, they have four children, Russell, Stephanie, Lorraine and Jamison. In February of 2010, they added a son-in-law, Dr. Jason Alder.
Steve Urie is the president and designated broker of Mesa Verde Property Management, Inc. He has been a small businessman for 28 years. He is also the administrator of the Property Management Institute, LLC,
a real estate education school that specializes in continuing education courses for property manager.
He currently serves as an Arizona State Legislator for Legislative District 22. As a state legislator, he serves on the Appropriations Committee, the Appropriations Sub-committee (chair) of Debt Reduction, the Appropriations Sub-committee (vice-chair) for Multi-Year Budgeting, Government Committee, the Agriculture and Water Committee, and the Joint Legislative Committee to select the Arizona Ombudsmen (Chair).
In 2003, Steve was selected as the REALTOR of the YEAR from among the agents and brokers of the 12th largest REALTOR Board in the nation. His
business, Mesa Verde Property Management, Inc, is a member of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce.
Steve is also a member the National Association of Residential Property Managers and a member of the local, state and national associations of REALTORS. In the past, Steve has served his local REALTOR Board on the Grievance Committee and on the
Arizona Association of REALTORS Professional Standards Committee.
Steve served 11 years on the Gilbert Town Council before resigning to run for the state legislature. Steve has an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement from Ohlone Community College (1976), a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with emphasis in Marketing and Finance from Brigham Young University (1979) and an MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona (1982). He also holds the
National Association of Residential Property Managers RMP and MPM designations,
and the REALTORS the GRI and ABR designations.
